CHILDREN HATE ADULT TV SHOWS

  •

This picture illustrates an article on how children feel about adult TV shows. Many times, forced to watch what their parents choose because they rule the remote control, kids get an early exposure to violence and sex on TV. In Brazil, where the article was published, it is shown every day on TV news and soap operas. The illustration tries to show how damaging it may be for a child, despite adults’ indifference. Made of plastic clay and colored paper, illuminated and photographed, this series of illustrations was created for Nós da Escola magazine, a MultiRio monthly publication aimed at teachers. The cartoon-humor style was used to illustrate controversial themes, which rarely had any photography.

This picture illustrates an article about the creative lies that children tell. With no words and just one still image, I tried to create a narrative in which a boy, who had broken a flowerpot with a soccer ball, is reprehended and comes up with a fantastic story about a giant octopus to blame it for the accident. Made of plastic clay and colored paper, illuminated and photographed, this series of illustrations was created for Nós da Escola magazine, a MultiRio monthly publication aimed at teachers.
